About MAPTTI
Minerva Educational and Welfare Society (MEWS) is a not-for-profit organization founded in the year 1993 with a purpose to build a relevant and rigorous practice-based model for teacher education in the country. The primary purpose of MEWS is to serve the education space by building a model of excellence in teacher education. The title Minerva Educational and Welfare Society has been consciously coined to build a sense of pride within teachers about their profession and about their identity as a teacher.

This is a Non-government, Co-educational Primary Teachers Training Institute- established in 2008 vide NCTE order No. ERC/7-91.6(I).9/2008/14631 dated 23.12.2008.
The institute is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education. with an annual intake capacity of 50 from the academic session 2019-2010.
